Cape Town - Stellenbosch Winelands

An opportunity to experience the exceptional natural beauty of the Paarl, Franschoek and Stellenbosch Winelands with their majestic mountains and valleys, whilst seeing the many original Cape Dutch homesteads on the historic wine estates. Visit famous wineries and cellars to see how fine wines are produced and then partake in free wine tasting on some of these estates.

  • A tour of the KWV Cellars in Paarl, the world’s largest cellar complex, followed by a wine and brandy tasting
  • The Franschoek Valley, first settled by the French Huguenots in 1688. Wine tasting at a Franschoek Estate
  • A drive past the Victor Vester Prison where Nelson Mandela started his “long walk to freedom” on 11th of February 1990
  • The charming village of Franschoek with its famous restaurants and wineries
  • The magnificent Boschendal Wine Estate established in 1685
  • Helshoogte Pass into Stellenbosch, second oldest town in South Africa, established in 1679, now a major university town. Experience its scenic oak tree lined avenues
  • Visit “Oom Samie se Winkel” (Uncle Samie’s shop) a general dealer of days gone by
  • Stellenbosch Village Museum, a complex of carefully restored buildings representing the previous 3 centuries or a tour of Die Bergkelder, “The Mountain Cellar”, home to thousands of bottles of wine, with wine tasting
  • Visit Zevenwacht Wine Estate for a magnificent panoramic view of the Cape Flats, False Bay, Table Mountain, Table Bay, and Helderberg mountain range. An excellent photo opportunity before returning to Cape Town
